Hey
I just picked up a 1992 Honda Civic Dx Hatchback over the weekend for under 2k. I'm pretty excited about it. I've been into cars for awhile and finally decided to jump on the bandwagon.
Anyways just wondering what kind of small mods I could be doing for now to get the most out of the car. Some that come to mind.
-Tune up
-Ex gauge cluster (I want a tach...bad) or is there a better option?
-Integra Brake Conversion.
Anything else inexpensive but enjoyable?
I'm looking down the line a little bit for something fun to do with the car project wise. I was thinking throwing on a vtec d16 head and see where that gets me and maybe some boost on there as well. Or should I just skip up to an ls swap? The car is mainly a daily driver so reliability and good gas mileage is a HUGE plus. I don't have much money to spend since I already have a project car that soaks up most of my funds. I'm just looking for a little bit of fun out of the car while being a good car. I guess just any comments or recommendations would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks guys and glad to be here!

If you plan on doing anything to the car, get an alarm and other deterants first. If you don't believe me look at all the stolen car threads. GL
If you dont have much money to spend on your second project car an LS motor as you suggested would be a good choice. Suspension would also make the drive a little more enjoyable. Work from the ground up. Susp./Tire - Motor etc GL
IDk my friend just got a b20. Those motor are nice on the tq end. They are cheap too..
But yea like said.. an alarm prob would be a nice thing.. and maybe just some springs to lower it.

Just understand that these cars are getting jacked all the time, and if you plan on putting any serious $ into it, invest in a good alarm. Lojack, GPS, 2way paging, we can't put enough emphasis on the need for good security.
Then, IMO, suspension and tires would be the best initial investment. That was one of my first mods and I'm glad I did it that way. I had a lot of fun cornering.
Welcome to the H-T world, GL and enjoy the ride.

as everyone mentioned...alarm, tune up, suspension. that'll put your car to "enjoyable status." lol but yeah, great handling is in good suspension.
