Default jdm b16 ecu

what would be an advantage switching from a usdm b16 ecu to a jdm one? (if any)

nothing other then the fact that a jdm p30 is harder to chip then a usdm... so down the road it might be worse for you

As others have stated, there would be no advantage (unless you lived in Japan). If you want to upgrade your ECU, chip it and tune it with something such as Uberdata or Crome.
