Default 7th Gen Pet Peeves

I love me 7th gen but hate a few things.

1.) When washing the car I will have the passenger wiper up, but then I can't put the driver side wiper up as the passenger arm is blocking the path of the drivers arm. So I have to lower the passenger side, etc....

2.) You have to hit the power unlock button before it lets you out of the car, assuming you locked the doors once you got in.

3.) Autoclimate control is great, yet the AC compressor is always "on" and you have to turn if off manually

4.) A chunk of ice was in the cowl and blocking the washer nozzles. Yet good intentuions so the fluid does not leak out on the hood and eat away at the paint

5.) Have not had to change a headlamp, yet but not looking forward to taking apart the wheel wheel.

6.) Why does Honda still have the oil filter housing sticking off the side of the block so it leaks all over the crossmember, the axle, and you hand and arm when you are taking it off. My Turbo DSM even had an external oil filter housing

7.) Honda decided to no longer produce an OEM LIP KIT for 06-07 7th Gens WTF

End Rant. I do still love the 7th Gen though, nothing is perfect. Anyone else have any pet peeves with THIS generation.

At least you don't have to stop your wipers somewhere on the windshield like CL / TL owners do

MY 4th Gen Accord, 5th Gen Accord nor my 05 Pilot is like that with the locks. You go to open the handle, it lets you out regardless of whether or not it is locked.

3rd gear sometimes hard to get into.
Door panels seem to be cheap and rattle when you turn music up half way or more on the dial.
The highbeam switch. I liked how it clicked in the old one instead of having to push it to lock it into place.
The seatbelt dinger thing that dings if you or the passenger don't have the seatbelt on. One or two dings is ok but after that it needs to stop. This goes on until you finally put the seatbelt on which annoys the hell out of me. There are quite a few more things I could go on and on about that I don't like on this car but I'll just stop now.

There is a good chance that this will be my last Honda.

I wouldn't complain about oil filter location...Cavaliers are THE EFFIN WORST. They're right above the axle and only place to reach up is right between the crossmember AND the HOT exhaust....this is only because I work at a quick lube place and I have no choice. Even w/ a burn sleeve it still makes for messed up work.. blahhh

AC runs with the defroster, this doesn't trigger the AC pilot light, and you can't turn it off. The 6th-gen runs the AC too, but at least you CAN turn it off.

Manual-tranny gearshift lever is in an awkward position for me. YMMV.

6th-gen looks way prettier. (Yeah, I know that's subjective. 3rd-gen Integra 4-door looks better yet.) Somehow it went from graceful (6-gen) to bloated.

No more timing belt (4-cyl). Chains last forever so there's no more excuse for spending all that time working on it.

Yeah, I can't believe how "chubby" the 7th gens are! The sixth gen was great looking -- it was like a cross between the 4th gen and the 5th gen...Kinda round but kinda edgy...I think the auto industry as a whole has been designing some of the blandest and most bloated looking cars in the past five years...It's too bad. In twenty years everyone is gonna think back and say "Damn, there sure were some wierd looking cars to come out of the early 2000's!"

i don't know but the look of the 7th gens are growin on me now that i have one of my own. i wasn't a huge fan of the design when it came out, was never a huge fan even until now. maybe it's just me trying to justify my purchase of one but the look is startin to at least make sense to me somehow. as for my pet peeves so far:

- no auto dimmer for the rear view (with a car that comes with voice-recognition nav system, you'd think an auto dimmer would be featured as well)
- doors don't stay open easily at all on their (ask my chins that have been crushed a few times already....ouch)
- the nav system voice is too quiet for the amount of road noise this car makes at highways speeds(another pet peeve in and of itself) and too loud on city streets after having to turn it up for the highway just to hear it.
- HUGE speedometer and TINY tachometer, honda got it backwards.(but then this is an accord)
- a pet peeve for my passenger mroe than it is for me is the lack of "oh ****" handles for my occasional aggressive driving.
- i know this is an accord but with the amt of power from the V6 and the 6MT, rwd would make this car perfect for me, not just generously adequate.

When I bought an '86 Jetta, I thought the 1st-gen Jetta looked better. After a while I liked my 2ns-gen better.

When I bought my '95 Integra, I thought the Celica looked better. But I bought the GSR because I liked the way it drove better. After a few months, I liked the looks, and now when I see a '95 Celica I wonder why I liked it.

Our '03 Accord is growing on me, too.
