A buddy of mine just bought an 01 salvage FBP type r, and while i was inspecting it, i noticed that his badge was labled "00-1351". I check the list of 00 itrs and the only info i found for this badge number was that it was stolen from NY. I will be picking up a PY shell later this week that is salvage from NY and was just wondering if someone can please tell me if the R was PY or FBP or any other info on this badge. If it isn't PY, ill be happy to return this badge to the rightful owner...

Update After doing some search, i found that this badged ITR belonged to a member here on h-t. The car was stolen in November of 04. I tried contacting the original owner, but the last time he signed on to h-t was also in 04. From what i've read, the car was never discovered. My 00 PY ITR was broken into and the badge / shift **** / front and rear seats were all stolen. but it was before I bought it so I don't know what the badge plate number was.. who knows, it might be my teg, but it could be a lot of peoples.

The place where it was broken into (from the previous owner) was in Boston Mass. I believe.

Wow! Well yeah havn't logged on since 2004 when my car was stolen. The car was FBP and the shell was recovered in SF shortly after the theft completely stripped. Short story car was salvaged by the insurance company, and put up for auction. The badge was not in the car when I looked at it after the theft ( actually almost nothing was ).

You happen to know the last four digits of the vin?

 

At work currently, but I do have it at my place, I'll let you know tonight. Be curious to see if the parts are from my car, namely the engine.

Pm me the vin so i can check to see if his engine is yours. If you want your badge back, ill be happy to give it back to you. Im in the San Jose area and Cupertino is not all that far from me. Let me know what you want to do...

thanks man, im just doing what i can to help the ITR community out. If everything goes good later this week, ill finally be an official member of the ITR community. (fingers crossed)

 

What would be even better is to find out who has the shell and give them the badge!

I'd agree with that, the person who bought the shell contacted me a few months back, I didn't get a name unfortunately but he called actually asking for the original badge number for the shell. He said he was in the bay area and actually wanted to restore the interior of the car, also believed he worked for either a honda or acura dealership, maybe he can be tracked down.

That would be awesome. But weird thing was that when i checked the list of 00 itrs on this forum it said that it was stolen from NY.
