honestly bro people either love or hate on EP3's I have to be honest it had to grow on me...
It is my first car and I have ended up loving it except for a couple unlucky hit and runs, and then my run in with the curb which has put my car undrivable for almost 2 months now!!

But it really depends on what your looking for, take one for a test drive when you can...any more specific questions feel free to ask, but the guy above me is probably 100 times more knowledgable but i guess more opinions are good

A couple things to remember:

Up through 2005, this was Honda's most powerful Civic variant. Also, this is probably going to be the only Civic hatchback this decade produced for the US. Even if you're not into modding, you can expect the EP3 to be as popular among used car buyers as previous Civic hatchbacks have been over the last twenty years.

If you're into modding, and don't mind getting into the realm of engine builds/swaps/forced induction, you won't have to worry about how much faster the stock Type-S is (they're even closer than cousins; maybe "fraternal twins" is more like it).

I really like mine. When I first test drove one, it felt like my '86 Si had grown up, becoming nice, civilized, yet still fun to drive. If it weren't for the Evos and STis getting all the hype, and if we had gotten the same motor as the universally-praised Type-R overseas, Honda would have sold a lot more.

i used to have a injen cai
simliar build/quality, great fitment, same performance
whats the price difference between the two nowadays?
30-40 bucks, free duffel(sp?) bag/hat helps too

dc is excellent for the price
fitment was perfect
quality was so-so
performance was definitely noticable

if i was going to purchase a different raceheader
i would save to get the buddyclub or ssr

yeah fursure the trunk is pretty big cause i can fit my little BMX bike in there but the back seats i gotta learn the opposite side so I dont hit my head.

i was looking at this for an EK do you think its too tacky or a waste?
http://www.grounddynamics.com/...d=674

if i were to get that i would try to put an s15 tail lights or gtr34s cause then itd look sexy in my opnions but i'd have to do lots of mods to the trunks huh?

The back seats in the EP are more livable, though. I've ridden in mine, and besides the usual short legroom (I'm 6'2" -- the only car under $20K that I've known to have plenty of rear legroom is the Scion xB), I didn't feel very cramped at all. That long hatchback roofline (I call the RSX a fastback) means that the rear passengers have almost as much headroom as the front. Plus, they still get shade from the roof, whereas the RSX's rear window extends practically above their heads.

if you want a 240, why don't you just get one
they are pretty cheap
my personal fav is the s13
flipup headlights ftw

aco I like the s15 but i'm pretty sure those arent in the US so i'd proly get a s14 and get an s15 conversion. but you cant find a good s13 or s14 5sp in good condition usualy beaten up or 200K miles and have been thrashed.

i want a nice show car http://www.jinsoku.com <- my cousins on the team i like those little guys.

I want my car to have the performance of a sports car and the look of a show car

i can't see the pics because my work won't give me access to that page

s15s are sold in the us, but they'll probably be cost more than you want to pay for

"I want my car to have the performance of a sports car and the look of a show car"

don't we all

That's $$$$$ (let's see... five $'s... yeah, that's about right). You'd have to spend as much -- or more -- money on looks than you would on performance upgrades, at least until you get into engine rebuilding and 10K+ rpm redlines. Plus, the more you add for looks, the heavier it's going to get, and you'll need even more power and suspension fine-tuning to compensate.

The fast cars I've seen on track are rarely ever show-stopping trailer queens. Those guys are spending more of their money on tires (lots and lots of tires in some cases), track time, dyno time, suspension modifications, engines, safety equipment, and loads of other gear. Anything else is just extra weight and takes money & time away from the effort of going faster.

Sorry, I think I'm starting to get into lecture mode. I think you know this stuff already...

They would rock, they would be a lot of fun, and they're probably already beat to ****, too. Get one and tweak it for autocross, but expect to get into some big repairs just because of its age.
