Default Anyones ITR stolen WITH fuel cut off?

I usually search when it comes to just about anything I want to know, but I couldn't find anything on this. Has anyones ITR been stolen with a fuel cut off switch installed? Being towed is not the answer im trying to find. I take it the best place to hide a switch would be somewhere under the seat or near by? I know MorningZ's switch over at TI was very effective, but thats all I know.

I'm picking up an ITR soon and want to take every security precaution possible, I know if a thief wants my car he'll get it, but I'm going to put up a fight.
Its probably moderately safe in my area, I live in a really good neighbor hood, and cops here have nothing better to do than issue speeding tickets.

Thanks.

If you read my entire post, thats not the answer im looking for. I know you can easily tow the car. The 2 longest sitting parking places are my house and work, neither of which any thief would have the ***** to tow at, it would be way too obvious.

Also wouldn't two fuel cut off switches at different locations be even better? Or one at the ECU which controls both the fuel injectors and pump?

Right now I plan on doing right away:
-Hood relocation w/ sheet metal
-Fuel cutoff(s)
-Unlock Switch Bypass

I'm sorry but most of the stolen ITR threads I read which contain security details lack fuel cutoff switches, hood relocation, and unlock bypass. Looks like most people rely on alarms, that don't really do anything. I think i've gotten the drift.

Anyone seriously concerned with the safety of their caR is not going to answer this question...

but, lots of the cars stolen are done with a U-haul rental tow and a thieves truck- so don't think a kill switch is going to help you sleep at night.

You better get yourself a boot or keep her in a garage... but even that's not 100%, only owning something else is.

I'll have full coverage, so it doesn't really matter if they steal my car, its just a pain in the ***.
I just want to know of any cars stolen w/out a tow truck with a fuel cutoff.

I had a viper alarm and a fuel cutoff in mines and it was still stolen....The Thieves used there own ecu and ran their own fuel line directly to da fuel pump... By bringin their own ecu, they were able to bypass key immobilizer..I'm pretty sure they knew that a fuel cutoff was possible thus they brought their own wires to tap straight to da fuel pump...I'd say get gps and 2 way alarm to help but may not protect you from thief..At least wit a 2 way, you will know rite away dat your car is being tampered with. And if your car happens be be gone by the time you get out to check it, you have the gps to help you locate it giving the thieves less time to strip and toss out your GPS antenna! This is just a suggestion to make you feel a lil better when you park your car.. If thieves want it, they will take it.. Oh yea, don't forget a good insurance!!

ive heard of quite a few cars taken this way

Also, you could add kill switches for other things as well. It is not just limitied to the fuel pump. Add as many layers as you can.

I am not so sure you have. There is no such thing as too obvious, too secret, too hidden, too secure! You have good intentions and i like that, but please understand that no matter what you do....NOT MATTER WHAT.... if a thief wants your car, he/she/they will take it. There have been more jaw dropping stories on this board about theft that one could ever imagine. Glad you are taking the appropriate steps though

Thanks, I'm no pro at all, I'm on here to learn. I'm not trying to make it sound theft proof, only much harder, layers and layers ;-) If they really want it, I know they'll get it, its just a huge pain going through insurance and then buying another car. We should all try to keep them as safe as to our abilities, correct?

Also, just an idea the one 10mm screw that holds down the rear seats pictured here: (TI: http://www.team-integra.net/im...t.jpg ) Couldn't that in some way be tap welded? If it ever needed to be removed, you could just get out the handy dremel.

Welding that bolt won't do you any good...cuz that lil rod can easily be bent upward...thieves do not need to take out your back seat to get to your fuel pump..all they have to do and probaly will do is just lift up the seat, bending the rod. Hmm...

This is why a garage with alarm would come in handy.

If your car was stolen, do you think they would leave you a note and tell you that they did indeed defeat your kill switches, as opposed to towing it away? How would you know if they towed it or defeated your security?

make a kill switch for the headlights. Sounds dumb but they cant drive it at night without crashing or getting pulled over. Plus most jackings happen at night... so go figure.

what about re-routing the ebrake to a diff location and keeping the oem one still in place just as a dumby.. may help in certain cases??

i like the horn and headlight ideas.. both would draw some attention if the theif drives off in it at night.. wonder if there is a way to do the headlight, brakelights, and turn signals all in one switch.. if the car has to go 20 miles its sure to be pulled over.. even if the car isnt reported stolen yet atleast you will have the persons name who is driving it on the ticket..

curious to read some more ideas on what can be done.. obviously if they want it they will get it but we dont just have to sit here and let it happen without a fight..
