Default 02 code being throw...new 02 sensor...help!

I just installed a new 02 sensor in my gf's 99 civic EX. I cleared the codes, but the 02 code keeps coming back. However i installed a univeral 02 sensor, does this car not like the universal 02 sensor?

What else could throw the 02 code? any ideas, appreciated! Thanks.

well it just says 02 sensor, we're using a basic code puller from autozone. So it doesn't get real specific.

no...buy a denso where i told you to...
Honda uses Denso O2s, so it will work like oem, without the stupid dealership pricetag - it will be around 140 (get one with a connector)
