Default OBD0 to OBD1 conversion list and questions

Okay, I've searched on the topic and most of them are about sohc vtec swaps, none about Jdm b16a odb0 motor swaps. So the reason why i want to do the obd1 conversion is because i am sick of the "famous b16a hesitation". There are alot of obd1 Honda civic, and integra around here in the junkyards. What would i need to get to do this? What dizzy could i use or can i get the obd1 connectors off then depin the obd0 connector off and put the obd1 plugs on? I already have the jdm p30 ecu to begin with anyway. i can get the ecu plugs from the junkyard as well. i just want to know what do i need and how to do it. A sub hardness would be nice to have as well!

you don't need the injector clips, you can run obd-0 injectors with the resistor box.

You should have the vtec solenoid plug already. I believe the IAB is the secondary runners on the b18c (someone correct me if i'm wrong).

Judging by your reply you didn't read that page at all because everything i just said was said there.

ok, if your allready obd0 vtec, put the wires you took out back in, so its like stock at the ecu... then you need a obd1 dizzy, and ecu, thats all... to use the obd1 parts I sell jumpers, and a subharness if you need it... Minimum people order the ecu jumper, but you can get the dizzy jumper, and subharness also. If you use a stock ecu you will need a 4 wire o2 as well.... I normally just turn off the o2 heater on crome so I can run a 1 wire o2

If your not doing it for tuning reasons. Getting rid of the "famous hesitation" is worth it TEN FOLD. I dealt with the hesitation for 4 years and as soon as I went OBD1 it went away..........

yeah i'm doing it for tuning reason so i can tune with itbs sometimes soon and get rid of that hesitation problem. now i havent start on anything yet or took anything off yet. i just need to know where to start collection parts. i can get just about any obd1 plugs at the junkyard and might as well match them up.

Default what do you have right now?

Here's what I needed when I converted my running OBD0 B16:

OBD1 distributor (or OBD2, functionally the same -- just a difference in harness plugs) -- you will have to buy a converter plug or cut and splice wires.

OBD 0->1 jumper harness

OBD1 ECU (since most people can't get correct b16 OBD1 ECUs, you will most likely use a non-b16 ECU and you will need to make sure it can be tuned for b16 AF + ignition tune)

4-wire (heated) o2 sensor

Well now you're talking about converting your OBD-0 engine harness to OBD-1 engine harness plugs, sensors, and injectors. The article mentions that the full conversion takes place because of CARB swap legality.

If I had a had an OBD-1 drivetrain, i would leave the engine harness untouched. I would convert the shock towers plugs to OBD-1. I have done this twice.

In your case, you have a running OBD-0 B16 correct? Are you trying to be CARB legal?

Put your wiring back to stock. Buy conversion harness. Follow wiring instructions. Done.

What is so hard to understand? I did the entire obd1 conversion on my car in an afternoon and never had to ask a question. Use the search function and you'll find out everything you could ever need to know. The search function is a powerful resource and you sure as hell aren't treading in uncharted waters here.

And if you're talking about repinning your stock ecu connectors.. if you have to ask it's over your head. I was completely confident in my skills to do it and it wasn't worth the headaches of tracking down wrong connections to me compared to just dropping $105 for a harness from rywire.

Here is a question - can u use a wideband 02 as the primary sensor? I have the narrowband as well as a wideband - never thought to ask if I can delete the narrowband.
