I cant remember the last time ive had a question for yall...
Ok, I have a 91 crx (daily driver), and its got 88 si doors... It had some unsafe harnesses installed, and I ditched them... has anyone ever put 88 seatbel;t assembly's in a 89-91 si?? I searched, and couldnt find info. Does it bolt in?? Can I use hatchy belts?? I need info! I need seatbelts

im not sure if you can use the hatch on the crx'x but i did the swap to my hatch and i welded a nut where the hole is and a small metal plate on the bottom to bolt it down on the bottom drilled a hole and put a screw and a nut to bolt it down
It can be done.
You have to weld nut in the b-pillars and it will bolt in. I think the lower mounting nut is missing.
My friend in AZ has done it on 2 of his CRXs. I will get a hold of him and get the run down.

Yeah, the threads in the pillar are missing, gotta weld in a nut. The lower floor bolt hole (inside edge of rocker panel) is not there either, you can bolt that to the rear outside seat rail though. Also theres no bolt hole for the buckle next to the console, but these too can be bolted to the seat rail. If you don't use the seat rails as mounting points for those I dont know how you'd do it... major pain in the ***. 88's got the jdm style doors though, thinner piller looks better imo. Im doing it to my 90 because 1. I could only find doors for an 88 and 2. because 90-91's always have ripped door cards and dents in the door jamb from the seatbelt not retracting all the way

bringin back from the dead.... guess i will be doin this very soon... shell im gettin is 89, and im gonna be swappin everything 88 over. so will take some pics and maybe even little how-to, even though its pretty much already done...
Under recent investigation I have found that 89-91 Si's have the upper nut for the pivot point in the B-pillar however the 90-91 HF's do not have this nut welded in. It appears that they all have the lower mounting point though.

Ok, so I spent some time on the car this weekend....
My car is a 90-91 si and the car is rhd so I worked on the right side first(so i can drive it). I can easily mount the belt assembly and the lower chassis threads are there too... All I was missing is the upper b pillar swivel threads. I planned on welding a nut there, but the local hardware/ parts stores have nothing really for the application. I may just go cut one out of a junker 88 and weld that in.
I remember when I took the belts out of my grey crx, the driver side (left side) was not threaded in the lower position into the chassis. If the left side is not threaded on my 90-91 si I just plan on drilling a hole and using backing plates/washers/17mm bolts and calling it a day. So the only real trouble is welding in the upper b pillar ones
