Default toyo slicks

we just borrowed one of my buddy's toyo slicks the size is 205 50 15 on some light weight enkie rims. the problem is,, is that when we launch it on the street it doesn't grab at all except around 3000 rpm.. but will they stick at the track.. was it especially made for the track, because it sucks on the street.. i wanted to know because i might take my bfg drag radials instead.. they are street slicks only.. so let me know about the toyo slicks and why they don't stick on the road.. i just wanna know if they will do better at the track.. my best 0-60 is 2.00 with a gsr motor on a 92 hatch.. trying to better my time...i did a 13.64 with that .. so im guessing it should help.. welp.. thanks for the help ahead of time..

Slicks are used for track only. Its completely different running on the street then the track. Slicks are made to launch at high RPMs not like you would taking off at a light.

You need to warm up the tires by burning out for a few seconds, then you get sticky icky tires that rip into the road super great. ^^ Also what the prev. ppl said.

And aslo, at the track you have layer after layer of previously laid rubber and excess VHT compound, which makes the ground stickier and gives you more traction. You have less of a contact patch on the street just due to the make-up of the asphalt, and not to mention all the dirt and oil on the streets. Stick with cheaters on the streets and leave your slicks to the track.
