Ohhh my you guys! i just did a mini me swap in my civic and i have been driving it for about a week now, It is EXTREMLY slow when you first take off, then it ripps. So i am kinda thinking the timming maybe a little off. MAYBE, or possibly the air/fuel ratio is a little f-ed up. Well anyways, i just tried starting it and it made a HUGE knocking sound for a couple seconds before it fired up...WHAt the sh*t?! Now i havent driving it agin since then but i think it runs okay. Now my idea is that the timming is off and it is all stupid while it tries to start, but when it does start, its got a (self timming?) system in it and it corrects itself? Now i have no idea and i am just bs-ing. Could anyone help me with any and or both problems? Pleaseee!! Thanks you all for taking the time to read this. Thanks, dave

 

check the timing belt to see if it jumped...

yes but i wouldnt recommend considering knock causes engine damage and by the looks of things youre kn ocking real bad,not even b/c of low octane fuel self igniting but the spark happening before TDC.

 

Yeah that stinks man. Sounds like you smacked a valve on the top if a piston...
