200 whp all motor itr
Hey everyone, this is probably my first post on your site. I have a del sol with a jdm itr. I was wondering if anyone thought it was possible to get 200 to the wheels before touching internals. I have the password jdm intake, stock jdm header, full 2.5 inch exhaust with no cat, chipped ecu, cam gears, competition clutch and lightened flywheel. I'm making 178 right now but my car wasn't heating up to temp. cuz I have a koyo radiator and it's probably overkill. So I have heating issues too I guess. Just wondering as a noobie to this site if anyone had any suggestions that could help me out. Thanks in advance... Nate
that sounds about right, for you to get 22hp without opening the engine will be hard. allthough you could get ITBs and skunk 2 stage 2's and that should be pretty close.
The places I'd start would be to get rid of your intake and get an AEM 3" cold air or a comptech icebox system, they both outperform the one you are using. The stock header will have to go and you should consider an SMSP or Hytech, RMF header. Your exhaust is probably fine but you'll want to go with some better tuning like Hondata S200/Chrome etc as a chipped ecu with a generic program won't get you to far. You're going to need cams like Rocket Motorsport M22x's or Skunk Pro 1 cams as well to get to your power goals. Make sure you're running a stock thermostat, it should allow your engine to heat up properly and not over cool itself regardless of the radiator you're using.
I've personally seen a stock JDM ITR engine with Toda C cams, Hondata S200, Comptech Icebox, RC 310cc injectors, stock ITR cat back and DC JDM 4-1 header make 207 whp on a dynojet.

I was going to lose my header in place of a Spoon header and go with an ARC airbox. Maybe the victor x intake maniflod for purposes later on with internals. My computer was chipped with chrome but I am interested in Hondata cuz a car isn't anything without a good tune the only problem is finding someone good. ITB's used to be at the top of my list of things to do but I can't find anyone to tune them in PA(at least on the west side). Would a fuel pressure regulator or bigger injectors help me at this point or is that something more beneficial with greater horsepower than I am wanting?
178 is good power for stock. Id say thats even a bit high, but if its there kudos to you. with pro1s, valvetrain, portmatched tb, 270-310s, a nice tri-y 2.5" header,
cat and exhaust, proper cam setup and tuning the ecu you should see a great
increase. expecting 200 is less than realistic but you can get there with the
right approach. if you say you are making 178, it might be good to show it
there are tuners here that might comment if they could see an a/f ratio and
a tq curve

well all your going to get is peoples opinions on what they like better.
i ve seen prolly over 80 dyno pulls with all diff types of honda setups.
you can reach that goal with a number of setups
the above listed were good most over kill though
valve train cams skunk 2s make good power on itrs i have one in my ej1
maybe run a thinner head gasket and some cam gears
decent header the jdm (style) dc 4-1 with a 2.5 collector works good for the money
other headers that out performed it did so by 3 -4 hp tops.
then its all in the tunning really i ve heard of people getting there car tunned by one guy and take it to another a week later and the next guy pulls alot more out of it.
tunning is really key. my .02

We dyno'ed a DTR B-unit header versus a DC JDM 4-1 on a 11.1:1 cr 1.8L and gained 12whp peak and 5-8ft-lbs of tq in the midrange. Same car, same day.

Do you even know what "tri-y" means?
As for the VictorX being junk for N/A...it is the only IM we've used that has broken 250whp on a DynoJet, so appearantly it isn't all that bad, especially since it beats every set of ITB's we've tested.

the itr head has a mild port & polish on the head...you can get the head done more. get some skunk2 cams and some dual valve springs & posibly better retainers.
and tuned...you should make some closer numbers...the cams would make the biggest difference..
