Default Rear disc conversion, E-Brake question....

Ok so my cables were to short on the gsr setup, so i ordered new ones for a civic... the rear passenger cable came but they cant order the rear left due to its out of stock... im gonna have to wait at least a week before i get the driver side cable, but question is... Would I be able to just install one cable for now, or do they only work when both installed... I noticed when i took off the handle and all that to get the dx ones out, that the spring lever on the end of the handle cant be pulled more or less from one side to the other so i didnt know if just 1 would work... can anyone clarify, thanks...

You need both for it to work properly, because when you pull the lever with both cables attached, they balance each other's forces out. Otherwise, you'd be pulling the lever much farther for only 1 side to work - which I don't recommend, since disc e-brakes don't work nearly as well as drums.

Either wait until you get the part before you install the brakes, or just don't use the parking brake for a week . . .

Where did you order from? A Honda dealer should have the part within a couple of days now that the Honda parts distribution centers are doing daily stock order delivery.

Just turn off the car while it is in gear. It'll keep the car from rolling. =P ghetto but it works.
