convert disc brake. (help)
hey i was wonderin. i just got a ef8 si (88crxsi) with drums. i was wonderin if i got a rear disc brake setup from a 90 si. i was wonderin if its gonna be easy. and i was wonderin what part not too forget when i go buy it from the seller. thanks. any big adjustments??
make shure you get the e-brake lines. thats about the biggest thing you will need besides the calipers and rotors, the hubs will actually swap right out. no trailing arms needed

It's not an EF8. It's an ED9.

It's easy. The rear disc brake conversion is probably the second most covered topic in this forum after engine swaps. There are literally thousands of threads full of information on this topic - I know because I have posted in several hundred myself. Please search.
From a '90-91 CRX Si, you will need:
- the disc hub assemblies
- the 7CLP13S calipers
- 9.4" solid rotors
- pads (FMSI #D374)
- soft lines for calipers
- e-brake cables
That's it. The trailing arms are optional. Some people swap the entire arm with the brakes attached (such as in cases where the existing trailing arms have bad bushings, or the hub Torx bolts are rusted/stripped), and some people unbolt the hub assemblies from the arms and just swap those (such as in cases where the donor trailing arms are bent or have bad bushings). Either way is fine.
You can also take all of these parts from any '90-01 Integra (except ITR), '92-95 Civic w/ABS or Civic Si, '93-97 del Sol (except S) or '99-00 Civic Si - they all share the same rear brakes. The e-brake cables may not fit properly though, so you'll probably still want to source some '90-91 CRX Si cables.
The correct proportioning valve for your intended application (stock '88 Si front calipers with 7CLP13S rears) is from a '92-95 Civic Si (EH3) non-ABS - unless you also use the front 16CL13VN calipers from the '90-91 CRX Si, in which case you can use the '90-91 CRX Si proportioning valve.
