trade in
has anyone here traded in their lx or ex after less than a year for an si because you realized how much more you wanted it? my parents and i stumbled upon a nhbp fg2 with aero kit hfp package all the goodies and my mom wished we woulda got it in the first place and are now thinking about it but know that the dealer is probably gonna screw us on a trade in. just tryin to figure out some numbers
I've been considering the exact same thing for a few months now. You WILL get absolutely butt-fucked on the trade in, nothing you can do about it.
However, and this is just my opinion, a parent shouldn't be buying their kid an SI. But I won't go into parental responsibilities in this thread.
But yes, you will lose quite a bit on even a new car. I would suggest NOT driving the SI unless the trade-in is a possibility, or you will be hating your car.

Bold for truth. Although I did wish back in the days my folks would have bought me a new car instead of donating their van.
Always go private seller.

The Si is luvly, i traded my GD3 on 1/30 to get the FG2. The GD3 had 10500 miles on it when i traded it.(bought it on 7/06 w/5miles) I traded is for $16k @ the dealer for the Fg2 which is $24K. i can't complain.
I traded my first LX for a SI 2 weeks after I got it. I did lose a little on my trade in, but I feel like I came up on a much better car. I LOVE IT. I still have an LX. It's like night and day I tell you.
