Default Wheel Stud Length

I need some new wheel studs to accept a thicker wheel center. I was going to get the 1.850" ARP's except even with an extremely thin lug nut I'd only have half a thread showing. The next step up would be going to a 2.85" ARP stud, except then I'd have an extra inch of stud showing, which isn't my style and wastes approximately 11 oz between all 4 corners. It'd be prefect if I could find a stud with an underhead length of about 2.000" but I haven't been able to find the specs on the shunk2's, blox studs, or any other studs for that matter. Does anyone know the lengths of these studs or know of a stud with a underhead length around 2.000"?

Here's a link to the ARP's:

That's a retarded argument that everyone uses. Cutting weight on your car is not equivalent to cutting weight on yourself - SO STOP POSTING IT.

Sorry for the rant but you CAN'T build a racecar by taking dumps.

And no I'm not cutting my studs, any reasonable stud is hardened so good luck getting a clean cut. Otherwise I would've turned them on my lathe and not posted to HT in the first place.

Anyone else have any leads to proper sized studs?

11 oz damn you must a bad *** race car not to waste 11 oz weight is weight because rotation weight turns but 11oz come on. could you tell me what kind of car ou building please i mean i don't know every thing. 11oz / 4 = 2.75. 2.75 per wheel please shave your brakes, use used brakes with less life, and build you car out of this metal (link at the bottom). also did you gut you car, and have light weight rims?

You would think that a CMU engineer would be smart enough to consider buying the longer studs and cutting them to length

What are you working on, the FSAE car? If so, why are you posting in here?

If the right studs exist I'll buy those and save myself the effort of cutting them (cutting hardened steel isn't fun). A CMU engineer tries to reduce the amount of labor and complexity to solve a problem.

Gato5254: thanks for the weight savings suggestions (I assure you I already have very light brakes and wheels ), but right now I'm working on wheel studs

Honest question for an honest answer, but no one seems to know - what I should've done is just given Blox or Skunk2 a call to ask them directly. I'll do that tomorrow.
