Default Which way does cam gear point on compression stroke...

Ok changed waterpump now the timing is off some how. When you have the crank TDC where does the camgear "UP" mark point??? Is it supposed to be on the bottom lined up with the crank? or is it supposed to be at the top???

Thanks

Are you serious? Logic would tell me (even if I didn't know the answer) that it needs to point *UP*... So what do you think?
