Default WTB: CRX/Civic/Del Sol

My sister wants to get rid of her 93 V6 MX6, and she needs a reliable, efficient (read: stock more or less) car to get to school and work. It needs to be a manual, nobody in the family is allowed to drive a slushbox. Looking to spend around a grand, depending on what I get for selling or parting out the MX. The MX6 is up for trade too, she doesn't need a modded car, just something simple to get around in.

Here's a copy of my ad for the MX6, we are taking offers on it now.

My sister is looking to sell her MX or trade for a Civic, Corolla, Celica, or Integra. Basically, the MX doesn't get very good mpg (28 usually), and it's got a lot of stuff she doesn't need on it. Also I can't help her fix it over the phone very well, but I am pretty familiar with Toyotas and very good with Hondas, so that's a lot easier for me. She just needs something that is reliable and gets decent MPG. We're taking offers on the car, or trades, let me know what you have. The car is currently with me in the Albany, NY area. We'd really like to sell it this week, she's on spring break, but she will need it to commute to school after this week.

The car is a 93 Hunter Green LS V6. The interior is in ok shape. It is leather, which is a bit worn. The electric seat controls work, as do the windows. The door panel on the passenger side is pretty rough, it kept coming off and her boyfriend fixed it with a screw or something. There is no stereo/speakers included with the car. The dash is in good shape, missing one vent on the driver side where a previous owner had installed a dimmer for an indigo cluster, which I replaced with a stock one. The electric moonroof also works fine.

The car was bought from auction by a friend of mine in 2005. We did a lot of work on it, and then he was cut off and the front end got messed up (20-30mph collision). It wasn't totalled, but after a few months of work he was frustrated, and since neither of us can do body work, he decided to sell it to my sister's bf who wanted a project car for TSD rallies (never used for them though). It ended up becoming my sister's car as she started commuting to school from home. He removed the lower front lights (but I have them) and the bumper beam, and ghetto rigged some crap, the bumper area is a mess, and it could use a new hood, but it's drivable and passed both NY and NH inspection fine. The airbag also deployed, making my friend unable to shave for a week (otherwise he would have been fine). Cosmetically the thing isn't very good, but it's definitely saveable for someone who cares (I don't), I just want to sell it for my sister and I want to be honest about it. The real appeal of this car is the parts in it...

Last winter the motor snapped a timing belt, so we decided to rebuild it... I'm used to Honda interference engines which definitely need a rebuild when they snap a belt, didn't realise we didn't need to do it at the time. It runs pretty well (fixed a vac leak recently), but loses a very slight amount of oil (half quart per change/3000 miles) via one bad valve stem seal, with was an installation error. I can tell you which valve it is too, it leaks oil through the port slightly when it's parked, but once it's running you don't notice at all.

So here's what's in it: (I have a big folder of receipts for EVERYTHING that's in this car short of oil and fuel)

Engine:
rebuilt KLDE with about 8k miles
ACL bearings
Hastings rings
new waterpump/oil pump etc
new VRIS solenoids
PCV/valve breather catch can
cold air intake
Nology Hotwires
new dizzy cap & rotor
Dynomax Super Turbo muffler (very deep/rumbly)
new motor mounts with polyurethane inserts

Transmission/Driveline
stock tranny with new seals
Fidanza 8lb flywheel
Clutchmasters Stage II clutch
RR Racing Ultimate Short Throw Shifter (with red stitched boot)
polyurethane shifter bushings
new axles

Suspension Etc
Tokico Illuminas (5-way adjustable)
Tokico Springs, came with the Illuminas, nice drop but not super stiff
polyurethane suspension bushings (control arms, sway bars)
AWR Racing rear sway bar
Heim Joint (spherical bearing) end links
front upper strut tower bar
new rear strut top hats
new inner and outer tie rods on both sides
new OEM brakes all around (no seized calipers)
OEM LS wheels, repainted black with polished lip

Other
battery relocated to trunk with 0ga cable
secured and externally vented battery box
aftermarket pedal covers (heel toe is MUCH better)
A/C removed
EGR removed

It doesn't look great, but this car is very well set up for performance. I have autocrossed it in fun runs a couple of times, and for a heavy FWD car it does pretty well. It's much more neutral handling than the stock understeering setup, the biggest problem is getting power down, but that wouldn't be an issue with decent tires. On the street it's very comfortable, if a little loud do to the intake and the deep exhaust.

Once again, I have literally every receipt for parts that went into the car, including things like alignment and glass replacement. I don't have pics at the moment, but if you're local you're welcome to come take a look at it. I'll try to get some pics soon, I have to borrow a camera from somebody.

Taking best offer, or trade for any of the above mentioned cars or similar models, preferably stock, my sister doesn't need a race/rice car.
</TD></TR></TABLE>

I'm in Troy NY, trying to get something this week, she's on spring break and doesn't need to drive, but next week she needs to go back to school.
