is it legal or illegal to ride through traffic in california? wat im talking about is riding between the cars during traffic.

I think it's legal in Cali.

 

it happens so often I don't think anyone would care.

 

I believe there's nothing in the Motorcycle handbook (CA-DMV) that says, "Lane splitting is legal." I think it's more not legal (not necessarily illegal) than legal. So basically, it's "frowned upon."

What irks me is some drivers get mad when you're splitting them.

 

Its illegal in VA Just FYI, it differs by state.

 

"lane sharing" is 'not' illegal in california.... i do it when cops are there all the time.

 

"Lane sharing" is LEGAL in CA. supposedly due to the fact that the older bikes that motorcyle cops used kept on overheating in traffic jams...

It is legal in CA. But that is one of the only states that it is. I wouldnt reccomend it. I know someone that had a door opened on them and hit it a 45mph. He doesnt walk any more.
