Default New (to me) turbo'd GSR

Just bought it from my friend about.. eh, 16 hours ago...

Brought it to work this morning, raised it up a little, oil change, rotate and balance, deleted a few things in the engine bay. Now for the pics.

By the way, this is my daily driver.

t3/t4, turbonetics wastegate, vortech FMU, 7lbs boost.

I was always against buying a car with aftermarket parts.

But I got a good deal, from a friend of mine for a few years, I and know he treated it well (or somewhat) when I was around lol.

I bought it like this, so... for now as a daily driver, it'll stay.

Thats more of a reason to ditch the FMU. If you're driving this daily and counting on its reliability, why take a risk of such a weak fuel setup? Spend a little money and get it tuned with the right management. Better #s, better performance, and alot better reliability.

Paint looks great, straighten out that muff though.

You're right, i'll definitely look into it. Thanks for the heads up.

As for the muffler, it's an open downpipe, so I don't get on it much as it is right now. I have the flex pipe, it just needs welded.

(I just got the car 15 hours ago so i'm trying to hurry lol.)

Don't try to hurry man, take your time and be sure to do it right. Just be easy on it until you get it tuned with a different engine management. Crome is a good example, but there are plenty of comparable systems that perform just as well.

Just an example, i've been driving 2 yrs now on the same street tune with Hondata. I've got the same turbo and engine you do, and it still drives just as good today as it did 2yrs ago. Longevity and reliability is what you'll get out of a good tune and good setup.

nice pick up. i'd ditch that exhaust, it doesn't look that good. haha. but cool deal for 4500. i would've bought it too, looks like it's in good shape!

but i've done fmu before, and tune is a whole lot different from it, but it's up to you on how you want to go with it. my next setup, i'm just running fmu, i'll be saving some money for a bit. lol if it works, u don't have to fix it right? lol
