Ordered my Fit this morning. Excited!
Howdy,
Decided to order my fit this morning. Very excited. Spent some time looking around and calling dealers but finally found one who is getting in the Fit Sport manual transmission in blaze orange metallic.
Sales guy told me it is the rarest trim/color/transmission combination made for the Fit but he might have been BSing me. Who knows. It's what I wanted so I spent the little extra time looking for it.
Came home and found a link to the board so figured I'd stop in to say hey. Very excited about the new ride.

Ordered it on Saturday and spoke to the dealer yesterday. Was told there are three on order with "affiliated" dealerships, one being in Maryland. I live in New Jersey.
Now being totally distrustful of dealerships I am assuming he is lying. First he was getting them in. Now they are "affiliated" dealerships getting them in. What is an “affiliated” dealership? Arn't all Honda dealers "affiliated" in some way? But he is telling me he is trying to work out a swap to have their BOM manual Sport re-routed to him and the one he has on order re-routed to them. Does this sound reasonable? I don’t even know.
He’s telling me he’ll have an answer and a delivery date one way or another on Wednesday. I have a feeling they will string me along until I get fed up and agree to another color. The way he made it sound on Saturday this was no big deal. Now they’re working out deals with Maryland?
We’ll see.

that's common dealership stuff there. Affiliated usually means nothing more than 2 dealers who have dealt with eachother in the past. I used to work at a Nissan dealer in NJ and we would trade cars from within 200miles or so of us, so anything is possible.
Personally, I'd rather get a car that came from honda right to the dealer. When they trade cars, they usually send one of the lot boys to get the new one and god knows how they will drive it on the way. My friend got his scion from connecticut and when it got to the dealer, there were 2 large rock chips in the hood. He made them repaint the hood the first week he had the car.

Yeah! It came in today! I went to go look at it at lunch and guess what it has the wrong interior. I wanted a white fit with black interior, the one that came in today is beige interior. So I said I don't want it cause of the wrong interior, then noticed there was 2 silver fits and told them I would take one of the silver fits. 1 of them was sold and the other had a deposit on it but something was going on with that person. So later they called and said I can have the silver fit. Now I have to do the paper work and **** tomorrow. Fun

just sold my 2007 honda fit sport vivid pearl blue, manual. i was never so disappointed in a car and i'm so happy i was ABLE to sell the damn thing! i bought this car for my son to get him through college. lost $3000 on it but at least its in my past now. the car is poorly insulated, the windows constantly fog up if there is the least bit of moisture inside. when you hit a puddle, it sounds like someones sand blasting the bottom of the car!. the gas pedal is located too close to the seat so your leg is in this awkward position and starts to cramp after about an hour of driving. none of these things are noticeable on a test drive. (except the gas pedal location) this car is way overpriced for what you get. should be priced around $10,000. why this car received good reviews, i have no idea. probably because the people reviewing the car never drove it around for any length of time. or in the rain. the FIT is cute car and smooth running but other than that, it's a bottom feeder of the automotive industry. shop around and you will see better buys for your money. mazda 3 is just an example. you get a bigger and stronger engine. a much more loaded vehicle than the FIT. mazda also will work with you on the sticker price where as honda is gouging people on the FIT badly. a friend just purchased a completely loaded mazda 3 with sunroof and NAVIGATION! for $14,800. way cheaper and a better car than the FIT! many other car manufacturers have similar better deals than honda's FIT. but if you're one of those HONDA HEADS that just gotta own a honda, buy a used model and step up to a higher quality! if you've already purchased a FIT, YOU'VE BEEN HAD!!!!

After that long rant, I have one question for you:
Do you know how many people own a Honda Fit and are happy with their purchase?
