How much for a CAI installation?
Thinking of getting an Injen CAI very soon. How much is a "good" price for installation? I wouldn't pay more than $235 for the piece itself, so I'd think + install would make the total about $300, but I'm not sure.

Do it yourself? Ummmm I would say around the range of 30 to 40$ I guess. It really is not that hard from what I have heard and seen. I would just get a good DIY, save yourself some money and well, do it yourself.
yeah that
do it yourself
comes with instructions and you can get online and ask for help
save yourself some cash
if i was ask to do it, 40$ bucks would be worth my while
shops would cost a grip so don't bother going there

It's a pretty simple procedure so I would suggest saving the cash on install and DIY. I'm sure you can find a link with some photos and instructions for install. It's pretty straight forward.

i'd say do it yourself. when i put mine in, it was the first time i did anything major to a car, and even if it is not that major, it was a piece of cake. did take a while though to take the oem resonator and filter box... just get the proper tools, theres only a handfull you will need and tackle it yourself!

I agree. I installed mine myself, and I had never really done any modifications to a car beforehand. It takes about 2 hours if you take your time, which I recommend if you haven't done anything of this sort.
Maybe find a friend that you feel comfortable paying, and they'd do it for a reasonable price.
However, if you are going to a shop, I'd expect to pay almost $100 dollars. They aren't cheap on labor.

DIY!! Id do it for you for free if i lived in your area. Just for the knowledge of the car. I did mine and i knew nothing about how to do it. Just was careful and did it step by step...took a good 3 hours though
DO WORK!!
DO WORK!!
A shop in my area will installed it, with hydroshield, for $300. Doesn't seem unreasonable to me -- that's $225 for the part, $30 for the shield, and $45 for the install. They wouldn't be able to do it until next Thursday at the soonest, though. I wouldn't mind doing it myself if I had the room, time, and most importantly the tools...
