i installed my ctr abs lip on my ek hatch . and guess what happen ..... my lip melted after a 2 1/2 hour drive !!!!!im so pissed off . the muffler tip was right behing the lip about 2 inches away but i guess because the hot air coming out for that amound of time, it ended up melting the lip !!!!!

will a oem ctr lip melt as easy or will it be better !!!

is their anything i can do to fix the lip ?

 

abs plastic is ****, I learned that the hard way too. I'm pretty sure that if you go with any kind of urethane lip you should be fine.

 

any lip will melt if HOT exhaust gas beating on it... try get the exhaust fixed so that the tip of the muffler sticks out passed the lip...

 

that's kind of odd since my rear lip is right above my exhaust. and yours is 2 inches from the exhaust???

i have the abs plastic lip as well but i modified a small cut out for the exhaust. it's about an 8th of an inch above the exhaust, and have no melting problem at all. my exhaust gets hot also, but i guess yours just gets really hot or something.

 

well the muffler that my ride came with was touching the bumper it self even before the lip was installed . i was sooo antsy to install the lip that i ended up cutting the tip of the muffler so the lip wouldnt touch the mufler ( matter of fact without me cutting it i wouldnt of had fit) .

the muffler was about 2 inches behind the lip .

it sux though . i cant believe it happened . it was a $70 lost for my dumbazz idea.
