Default Let me know what you guys think of my numbers

I got 168hp and 113trq. The trq seem kinda low to me. My mods are short ram aem intake, jdm itr header, T1R test pipe, WS2 exhaust, and fpr. I was told that for an all stock internals that these were pretty good. The guy said that these are the best he has seen for an stock type R. I will try posting the dyno sheet tomorrow. So what do yall think?

Also I noticed on the graph that right before vtec hits it starts to go a little flat. Would this be room for adjusting the vtec crossover point?

I know of a GSR that does this with only a header and exhaust upgrade. When was the last time you did a tune-up on this car? What is the condition of your injectors? I think your motor is not as healthy as it should be. Run a compression test and post the numbers.

I just had a tune-up and do regular maintenance on it. The injectors Im not sure about though. O by the way this was done on a mustang dyno and it got 182 and they said that 168 was the corrected numbers.

I'm at 192 WHP wtih just intake, header and exhaust. Not to mention the hondata intake mani gasket. This was tuned on a Hondata S300 system EMS.

As for your numbers, what dyno where you on? That will make all the difference in the world.

You forgot to mention thats with a Mugen Intake, SMSP header and race exhaust. Quality parts = Nice #'s

Im interested to see what dyno this was on as well.

Also, was this just a baseline run or did this include some tunning? If tuned, what kind of engine management are you using?

The most common error of Dynos is that they are all different. There are Mustang dynos, dynojet, dynajet, etc... All of these will not read the same as they use different methods to find the results.. And one may test the HP to the wheels, while the other may test it from the hubs. And even if it still the same dyno type, you still have to factor in the ambient temps, altitude and etc.. I'm not even going to get into SAE, STD, and etc..

So don't make any conclusions on your numbers without comparing it to a baseline, because the before and after is what matters the most.

Lets not turn this into I made X amount of HP with Y mods, as comparing this online is flawed with so many variables involved.

Plus we all know that Dave_B uses nitrous.

This was on a Mustang Dyno. I tried to take some pics of it but they didnt turn out good so Im going to have to wait until I can get it scaned. And this is without any tuning. The graph it self looks pretty smooth.

My stock 99 JDM Type R motor put down 175 whp and 125 tq. When I dyno'd it there was about 50,000kms (just over 31,000 miles) The computer was stock OBDII, the only mod was a 2.5 inch exhaust from header back. It doesn't sound like your motor is too far off. A good tune up and proper dyno tuning can go along way though.

from the looks of it you could gain a decent amount of power from just a/f tuning, it looks as if your below 12:1 from 7000 rpm and up

get some kind of engine management and watch your numbers climb

I also have another ?. I have adjustable cam gears on my motor and there still set at zero. Do you guys still think there can be more of an approvement with adjusting those and messing with the afr? I think the guys I was going to get tuned by were too preocuppied with getting ready for the track so they just said that it was god the way it was.

Also right before vtec hits it kinda flattens out. Will it be a good idea to lower it some to get rid of that?

mustang dynos read lower than dynojets. the o.p. is probably making about 180whp on a dynojet. not bad at all

Mustang dyno's are generally 13-16% lower than DynoJet 248c's.

Factor that into your numbers and you could have anywhere from 189-194whp - DynoJet.

It's actually the other way around. But people typically don't like to use Mustang dyno's because they read lower and can't brag about how they put down the big numbers.

The numbers represented by any chassis dynometer are centered on an SAE corection factor, you can get a mustang dyno to read the same as a dynojet, and vice versa, just takes a bit of manipulation.

With that said, Mustang dyno's are far better for tuning due to the ability to load the dyno to tune partials, whereas your conventional DynoJet 248 series doesn't. However, if I remember correctly, the newer DynoJet's have variable loading, but I havn't seen one yet in person...

Do you guys think that lowering the vtec crossover would produce more hp?

it wont create more max power, but from looks it could give you some more midrange tq and hp, but that all depends.

get to a dyno where you can get your a/f tuned and adjust your cam gears

Weak, I made 238whp with an SSAutoChrome header, Ractive exhaust, Toucan racing intake, and an OBX intake manifold (For a smoother vtech "pop")...

Kidding, decent numbers man, looks like your motor's healthy.
