Painting rims
i got 2 stock rims.. i want to throw some drag tires on them.. now that there are no tires on them i wanted to paint them.. i want a dark gunmetal color.. what are the proccess of painting it??
i have to sand it first rite?? what grade?
what kind of primer??
and what kind of paint?? i know i have to use engine paint..but what company makes good paint to paint rims with especially a nice gunmetal color??

ok, this is how i did my 94 GSR's, first buy duplicolor rim paint, its called graphite gray 2 cans, then 2 cans of primer, then 2 cans of clear coat, all the duplicolor rims paint (the spray paint and clear coat) then i think its the 400 grit sand paper, and get the black sand paper cant remember the grit. First u sand it real good, then prime it, then wet sand it, then prime it, then 2 coats of paint, then wait a little bit (tells u how long on directions) then 2 coats of clear coat....
Powdercoating is the ultimate, will last the life of the rim.... run a search in the APPERANCE section cause I had a thread on this and got repsonses and pics that were GREAT!! Good luck
