Default Weird Shift Linkage Problem

Hi I swapped in a B16 with LS tranny and the shift linkage is sitting very weird. In neutral it sits like its in reverse and in order to get the shifter through the hole under the car, I had to throw it into 3rd gear and like bang it in. I figured since it was b16 linkage I should use gsr, so I changed it out and had the same problems. Its like the linkage is too long for the car (EG). What could the problem be? Im using Innovative Billet Mounts and a GSR rear bracket. I would really appreciate it if someone can help me figure this out.

i can probably do that but the problem is bigger than just it being long. Its supposed to be a direct swap and the linage is supposed to fit. Anyone have any other ideas?

I could be wrong about this (i've never swapped an eg personally) but i thought my buddy had to cut the sheet metal back further on the transmission hump and then weld in a plate to reposition the gsr linkage. I do not speak from experience, just simply repeating what I was told.

Depending on the year of the car and the year of the engine, you might need a different transmission bracket (the one in the back). I believe the one you should be using is from a 3rd gen integra. But in all honesty the shift linkage should be the right length. Check the motor mounts, to make sure the engine is sitting in there properly.
