Default Powder Coating vs Paint Gun

Well i spray painted many rims, and white always tends to get dirty and brake dust will seek into the paint causing me to repaint the rims over and over again.

Well i got a price quote for 50$ per wheel which is kind of steep.
I was thinking of getting buddy of mine to spray it with a spray gun. Will it have the same look as powder coating or will it be just like a rattle can?

Wheel manufacturers use paint not powder coat if that gives you any indication.

Powdercoat is the better way to go.
USing a spray gun around spokes etc make it hard to get as good a finish as you get a lot of blow back and all that trying to get into the corners.

In saying that i'd go for spraypaint anyway haha

powdercoat will have a stronger finish. paint will not. paint=cheaper, powdercoat=less prone to chip.

powder coat is expensive...paint is like...no more than 40 bucks DIY

...but the paint will scratch/chip...and powercoat will stay...
