Tein S-Tech with KYB AGX - HORRIBLE ride?!?!
Just installed this setup and it is stiff as hell! I have all four struts on the softest setting (1) and the back end bounces all over. When you press down on the rear it has NO give at all. Anyone else have this issue?
the sport springs ride pretty nice, but they dont really lower the car enough. The race springs are a bit lower. I have KYBs, and GC coils......it rides decent.....sits pretty low. I could still probably go a bit lower, but I like how it sits as is.
Tein S-Tech springs were designed to work with factory shocks.
The spring rates are not much stiffer than stock.
I have tein s-tech springs and tokico illuminas. the ride is ~okay and i chose this setup because i wanted to keep the ride height high enough for daily driving and add some stiffness for auto-x without going to a really stiff spring. A stiffer spring would help performance but i would have to sacrifice comfort. obviously you have to compromise between performance and comfort and everyone has their own opinion on what setup offers the best balance between the two.

That's my current setup. It rides awesome, I keep it on the stiffest setting. The sports lower the car making it noticeable - but I might go lower. But the combination is great, no complaints here

(Tokico shocks do not have adjustable mounting perch so my car should look similar to everyone that has the S-TECH springs)
here are some pics but my car is in grass so it could be uneven/decieving~

I had the exact same problem when I installed my KYB AGX shocks. The problem is probably that the metal dust covers in the rear are stuck around the shock body.
Check out my thread on the problem here https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=923004

I used to run a shop and sold Tokicos 5-ways ALL DAY LONG, the KYBs sucked so bad because 2 out of 3 sets were blown within a month or two on average, sometimes within 1 week! I just had to stop selling them because they were giving me a bad name. The 5-ways are way more superior and gauranteed for life so no worries about blowing them out. out of the hundreds of sets of Tokicos I sold I only got back 2 struts, one an idiot installed incorrectly and the other must have just been a fluke. IMO you can't have much more experience than that to tell you what to put on you Honda! I have been running Tokico 5 ways w/ Skunk 2 or GC coiolvers on every Honda I've owned over the last 10+ years, never one problem. the only thing better is a full coilover setup but I've never gone that route because I have not needed too.

Hahaha I just put mine on with the dust covers too...damn I was never warned but make sure to put on a extra collar other than the little tapered one with them because you dont have the dust sheild to act as a washer to put through the bushings...that ride is freakin an awesome feeling, its comparable to the Indiana Jones ride @ Disneyland

NO movement whatsoever. I would push down on the back and it DID NOT move.
