1991 Accord Headlight Issue
Hi,
I just got a 1991 accord to replace my 1990. The issue/problem I have is that the DRL do not work and being in Canada I need them to get a safety. I checked the fuse and the relay under the hood and they are good. The DRL work on my 1990 so I removed the module and put it in the 91 and the lights don't even come on, so back to the orginal module but only the right side bright works. I replace the left side with one that works and still nothing. What should I do? I was thinking that the module from the 1990 to 1991 maybe be different. If the module is bad does it cause problems with the headlights. any help would be great because I only have 8 more days to get this car on the road. Thanks in advance.

Ok,
I just went to the dealer and got the DRL module. Still no go. Only right side bright and the low beams seem very low. I will try some new bulbs but I think it may be more. Any ideas before I spend too much or replace all the wrong things.

you need to check for voltage drop at the left side harness. Also, make sure that the harness isnt all dirty and ****. The DRL modual is the same for pretty much all honda's. How do the lights work with the switch? If they work fine off the switch, then its a wiring issue. However if they work the same off the switch, thats most likly the problem. When the switch is off, the DRL box should run the low beams only. The switch controls the rest.
What he said....check your harnesses...they can crack and corrode over time...
if anything take it to a Honda Dealership...
believe it or not, even though their hourly rate is relatively high compared to other generic garages, they do a fast and thorough job which might end up costing less than the same job at a generic garage.....

Thanks,
I am checking the ground for the lights. When the DRL module is plugged in the dims are very dim, only right side bright and no daytime running lights. When I unplug the DRL module only the right side bright works. I am going to try the ground and hopefully that is what it is. Thanks and if there is anything else I should try let me know.

Thanks,
I am going to give it a go tomorrow since I have the day off and if I can't get it I will take it to the dealer. Thanks again. I will check the harness. what voltage should I see there?
