Default building my motor

Ok here's the deal. I have a complete B18A1 engine that I want to build up to put in my 91 hatch. I also have a B18B1 head. What would be better or would it be the same---building up the B18A1 or putting the B18B1 head on th A1 block and then building it. When there be any difference or would it be the same no matter what I do. Wouldn't the B1 head on the A1 block be a little quicker since they were about 10hp faster? let me know....thanks

it all depends on what you plan to do.

Theres a certain B18A1 head that has smaller ports. but if you have the B1 head already, just use that. The 10hp diff between the 2 isnt all in the head. Those are just numbers that could matter from differences in the intake manifold, ECU, etc. I wouldnt count on all 10hp difference just from the head.
