Default 07 HONDA CIVIC Seat belt sensor noise

Ok guys a buddy of mine just got one of the new 07 hondas. They have this new sensor that makes both the driver and the passanger to put on their seat belts or the car beeps repeativley, which gets very annoying. Has anyone figure out how to disable this? is there a wire i could split and just ground it? all help is appericated! Thanx

Diclaimer: I realize wearing a seat belt is the law in which it is illegal not do. However, so is downloading music...so please don't give me a hard time.

Very easy to do.....put on your seatbelt and your golden. If you don't like that answer, try searching.

believe or not, back when I had a mercury, the dealer disabled the driver seat belt alarm for me. but I put my seat belt on now days anyway, once you get used to the belt, there is no difference.

Buckle the seat belt and sit on top of it, or go to a junk yard and cut off a metal buckle from a seatbelt and plug it in.

PS

WHERE YOUR DAMN SEATBELT

Im an idiot and its to early, *wear* is the correct spelling

LOL @ comparing illegal music downloads to dying in a car accident.

I kind of like that sensor, it trained me to buckle-up everywhere I go. Even in other people's cars. Life's too short to be bothered by a beep. Buckle-up son!!!

Wearing a seatbelt and downloading music illegally is quite possibly the worst comparison I've heard on here.

I'm just curious as to why these kinds of threads are always for "friends". Why would you be posting on here asking to split wires in your "friends" car?

Seriously...

Yoo and your passenger should wear your seatbelts.

It's not a *new* sensor for 07's, as my 06 has it and I love it.

Everytime it goes off, my passenger asks "wtf is that" and all I say is, "you're not belted, and it's not going to stop until you are."

They don't usually have to ask a second time.

Honestly I see where he is comming from. I wear my seatbelt everytime I drive. However when I wash my car, and drive it down the street and back I do not wear a seatbelt and the damn thing goes off. Also when I am comming to a stop and parking sometimes I take off my seatbelt before I stop, and my passenger does the same as well, and the damn thing goes off.

But back to the point, here is a link from 8thcivic, they might help you. I would do the same but I really dont wanna tear my dash apart.

You mean there's actually an answer to this thread?? Usualy this thread comes up every two weeks or so and the OP just gets flamed until he no longer wants to post on this board. *Shrugs*

Edit: LOL @ this quote from a guy from 8th

"Why not just wear the belt? Wearing a windshield is a lot more uncomfortable...just my .02"

That should sum it up right there.

the ONLY time the chime is a pain in the *** is when moving cars around the lot or gassing up in the back lot (i work at a honda dealer) but obv its not just civics, its every honda, and lots of used cars as well. besides that i buckle every time, as do my passengers.
