They shook hands on merging, correct? So should I go with Sirius or XM, or would it not matter since they are coming together down the road? I know XM is bigger, and there are pros and cons as to which carries certain radio jockeys.

They're still trying to get around the whole monopoly thing with the FCC and the govt first.

Sirius has better SQ(not CD quality though), ~140 channels all uncensored, and better rock channels. XM has ~170 channels, more music variety, and they don't repeat the same played out singles from mainstream bands like sirius does.

Actually you're better off not buying either right now, because it isn't clear but it seems like current sirius and xm units will still only be able to get exclusively sirius or xm signal respectively due to limitations in the hardware. This could be wrong, but it's a gamble. The merge isn't supposed to take place until the end of the year.

On top of that I still think they are going to have seperate plans...which is stupid I think if they DO merge you should be able to have one service with all channels, however there is a rumor going around that you can either have xm channels sirius channels , or for a higher price Both of their channels...

I'm wondering if there is enough bandwidth on their networks to have both lineups on both networks.
