Default Tranny question?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ok i have d16z6 in my ef hatchback im using my dx 5spd tranny now my 1st and 2nd gears are good but when im in third it takes awhile to get up after 5,ooo rpm. what can i do to have more power in this gear?

change the gear itself, or get a si final drive

yes, it has shorter gears and is better for accleration. DX gears are long

Just being a smart *** but the gears are the same, its the final drive thats shorter.

Yes, they have the same gears but the final drive is different DX:3.888 Si:4.250

I would just post the actual page, but its a pdf file and its being stupid.

Your saying that the DX and SI tranny is the same expect the final gear can you post that file

notice circled in red are the gearing(that same for either 5 spd manual) and then the different final drives(1.5 being DX, and 1.6 is Si)

cant just change fd. u need the input shaft from si fd too ,i tried just changin fd's and would not work unless u change input shafts from si . dx input gear are diff size to go with the smaller fd. so just source a si tranny its easier than tearing apart dx tranny to make it a si.
