I need some help people. I need to know what do you call the trans that bolts up to a B-16-A1 Japense spec motor. (two part question) Where can I get one.

Please Help, because I suck and have no idea

 

Well there are a few that bolt up:

S1
J1
Y1
YS1

Those are the JDM transmissions that will bolt up. You can also use any USDM cable b series transmission. I would check partstrader and places like that or the classifieds on here for a used b series cable trans.

how much is each one and which one is the best?

 

I have an S1 tranny and the gearing is very nice, accelarates hard. And when I shift the I never drop below 6,000 or so. The fifth gear is very short though and on highway I'm at about 5,000 at 80 Mph.

 

5th gear in my car is just like that, I guess thats my trans
