Default Comptech Springs & HFP Shocks = :-) (Pics Added)

Finally got my suspension installed, Comptech Springs with HFP Shocks. BTW, the HFP springs are up for sale in the For Sale forum!

I am VERY happy with this combination, the ride is slightly stiffer than stock, very smooth and handles like a little go cart! I didn't get a chance to snap any pics...the drop is conservative, but low enough for me and i'm sure it will settle a bit in the next few weeks. I didn't want to just do the springs because i didn't want to have them blowing out in the next 10k miles and since there was no other option for struts i went with HFP (had to buy the whole kit for them!).

In any case, i still have the stock crap tires on, but my Time Attacks are finally mounted on my new nittos, so once the weather gets a bit better i'm going to mount them up, slap on my HFP lip kit and really test out this handling...as of right now i couldnt be happier with the look and ride quality that Comptech/HFP achieved!

Did you ever have the HFP shocks and springs on? I was wondering how the Comptech springs felt versus the HFP springs.

Nice. I was wondering how the Comptech/HFP shocks combo would handle.

You got a lower drop without the need of worrying that the shocks will blow out in 10K.

I am still waiting for Koni to develop some shocks for the FG. Supposed to be available sometime in the summer.

because there arent any that i like...i had teins in my Evo and hated them with a passion...plus i will never adjust them so that's a huge waste! I wanted a nice ride and a decent upgrade in handling...so that's why i went with these!

Two questions:
1. How low are they supposed to drop the car?? Yours looks noticeably higher than Type-X's when he dropped his... I thought the drop was in the 1.5" range?

2. How much were the HFP struts and where did you get em?

1 - they say about 1.2" i believe...i'm sure they will settle a bit more once it gets some road time in, mike said his settled pretty nicely.

2 - Gotta get the whole HFP suspension kit, they arent sold seperately.

So what would influence one to go with Comptech springs over the HFP springs? If you hadn't tried the HFPs, you'd have to have had some assumptions about what the differences would be...

Seems like its about the same drop height as the hfp srpings. Im most defitnily sure it rides and handles differently though with those comtech springs. We will never know though but good combo nonetheless.

it's about .5 - .75 inches lower than HFP springs...

Mine has settled pretty aggressively, especially in the front. The tires are almost flush with the fender. Comptechs are great.

got any pics of the car after the settle? Honestly it does seem like my front is getting even lower! The rear needs to drop a touch though...
