Default How to take of brake dust shield?

can anyone tell me how do I take off the brake duct shield?? is it just a bolt??
also I will be changing the front brake pads, I think I know how to do that..but if I want to change my rotors too, do I just take of the two bolts behind the calipers and the calipers will slide right off?? I know there's only two screws holding the rotors in place, but I am just wondering how to take off the calipers first. Also if I change the rear brake pads, I heard that I have to screw back the piston in? where is that screw? any info will be REALLY helpful, as I am getting ready for Mosport on Friday~!

You will have to take off the caliper bracket to take the rotors off too...
so two more bolts...

then rotors might need some persuasion to come off after you take those little screws out... (you WILL need an impact driver to do this)

the dust shield is connected to the spindle behind the hub...
you have to take the hub out to do this.. so wait for your bearings to die before removing the dust shield. or you can take a die grinder to it.

I think it would be tough to get tin snips in between the knuckle and the hub. I just punched it with the edge of a big screwdriver and a BFH, stuck in the screw driver and just pried them off, pretty easy. Not sure on the rears.

Rear dust shields just have two 10 mm bolts.

rear calipers.... the 'screw' is the actual piston. I use needle nose pliers to twist the piston back into the caliper.

Front-end stuff:
2-14mm bolts hold the caliper onto the brake bracket
2-17mm bolts hold the bracket to the spindle arm
2-Philips head screws hold the rotor to the hub
1-hammer removes the rotor from the hub
1-pair of slip joint pliers removes the 3 Philips head screws from the spindle arm (grab the head of the screw from the side and twist)
1-Dremel (or tin snips) removes a ~3" long, thin section of the shield to allow removal of shields without taking the hub off

if you use tin snips, you can salvage them if you really want.

To allow better heat transfer, cooling the rotors. And yes, it does make a big difference.

If not needed, why did Honda put them on in the first place?

I just now used pliers and a hack saw. Unscrewed it fromt he side, and hack sawed diagonally. took it right off with some bending.
