Default GSR w/cams + light mods.....Tuning needed?

So, I have a 99 gsr swap i did, and over the winter here in montreal, i did the following mods: Type r cams, supertech springs, retainers, milled ALLOT off the head, CAI, headers,exhaust,7.5lb flyweel, pully kit, and i think thats it for the motor.
anyway, im running a stock p72 right now. is there any need for tuning? i have a p28 and a vtec-frog harness lying around i guess i could use. it seems to run ok at the moment. the mods arnt heavy on this motor, so im not sure the tuning is necesary.

Why did you mill ALOT off the head?
You do realize that it's bad to mill the head to get higher CR.. You end up killing your quench area and you'll lose power.

ANd good lord yes, please tune your car. Why would you do what you did and not tune?

Simply put, yes. You will need to get the car tuned.

You haven't even begun to hit the full pontential of those mods if you are still running off a stock ECU. Get it tuned, but more importantly, where are you going with the project? What are your goals? Its hard to tell with the mods you've done and "ALLOT of milling".

the head had to be milled down a little over the specs. it was warped preety bad. it wasent part of the build plan, trust me. i was just trying to save the engine.
and the reason i wasent sure if tuning was needed, is because the motors not heavily modified. just mostly bolt ons.

well, I appriciate all your input guys. thankyou.

Yes, it's worth the money. The stock ECU is putting the minimum out on those parts. Listen to everyone and get the car tuned. You'll be happy you did.

that milled head has now raised your compression ratio to god know's where. tune it if you want it to last.

u can usually expect 3-5 hp depending on how good the car gets tuned.

umm peak horsepower/tq isnt the only thing u should look at. The whole power band is what a good tune will be benefiting from.
