Not really, but about the only way you can comfotably fit a 42 into the engine bay. I believe he's scheduled to dyno on the 15th.

im really not feeling the outlet end tank design...any particular reason you made a straight line from the top of the core down...i would have at least left a 1" to allow the flow in the top of the core out...as it sits not...its coming out of the core almost into a 80 degree wall <1" out of the core

nice looking set up your building there. do you have any pics of the manifold off of the car?

also it seems that there are more and more people using v-bands on the end tanks. is there any particular reason why? or is it because it's more baller than t-bolts? i was just curious because i thought that they had a tendency to leak.

All the v-bands on the ic pipes are machined and fitted w/ rubber o-rings.

Reasons of design is its avery large core and fitment w/ a stock bumper cover. Wether or not adding 1" to the top of the end tank would have made a flow difference, that we dont know, but if it prohibits the bumper cover fitment then it does no good.

then why run such a huge *** core...cut it down an inch and make it useable...imho the top 1-2" of that core is useless....but nice fab'n skills too

with that being said.... i noticed the intercooler isnt exactly "centerd" on the front of the car, but the driver side end tank has no clearance issue, like you are suggesting the passenger side has ?

The passenger side doesn't have any clearance issues, what he was referring to was bringing the endtank out flat a few extra inches @ the top on the passenger side which would have created a clearance issue.

to clarify w/ ms paint ftw!

here is what he has currently

see where the arrow is...the flow path (green) is restricted by the outlet area (yellow) near the top of the core...therfore making the top of the core less efficent

here is what is imho a better design that would allow full use of the whole core by adding a lil bit of lenght the flow thru the entire core is allowed to pass through and we see the eddy currents of the flow hittin the walls and start to get turbulent

ideally a radiused exit would be better than a boxed endtank similar to that on joe simspons car like tony made to smooth out the charge w/ minimal eddy currents to increase the efficency of the system

and i would also sacrifice a 1" on the compressor side also to allow the same thing...if the air cant flow well w/o restriction to the entire core...whats the sense in using such a large core to begin w/....

ill get you some pics of eddy currents...check out the are website...basically ic comes off an 1' or so and then tappers at a changing slope to smooth the airflow exiting the core to the outlet
