i have to replace my timing belt soon on my 2003 3.5L odyssey. has someone here ever done one? if so please LMK what kind of tools i need & special tools if necessary. thanks.

 

its not to bad you dont need any speical tools.just some thing to hold the tensioner while you are putting the belt back on.Oh and make sure you mark the cam gears cause that back side cam could move on you.

What I like to do is mark the timing belt at all three timing marks. Then I also mark the cam gears and crank accordingly to the marks I made on the belt. After removal of the belt, I line old belt up with the new one and transfer the marks. This assures that my timing marks are lined up correctly with all the slack on the tensioner side before releasing the tensioner.

 

The times I changed the 90Integra and 97Corolla, the crankshaft pulley bolt was removed by an impact gun. It's only $10 to rent . Mark the bolt head and pulley with a line of white-out before removal, so you know how much to tighten up to.
