Definitely a sick purchase, especially if its rust free!

Get some pix up and describe problems if you need some help.

oh yea this sucks.. hood latch is broke the only way to open it is with two people. someone has to push down on the hood while someone pulls the wire from inside the car.. anyone know how to fix?!

Sounds like the latch is bent or the cross member is in the wrong place, might look at that. Otherwise it could be an issue with the hood cable - you can cut it, but then you need pins or something else to keep it in place.

I have the same problem. I reach under the bumper and pop the hood by pulling the cable and then lifting the hood up.

all the parts are still avalible new i just replaced the latch and cable on my roomates. you can adjust the spring thing that lifts it up after pulling the cable. with a big flat screwdriver and a wrench. make it push it up harder. that might fix it. the bottom of the latch that hooks to the radiator support has alignment marks on it to line it up if nothings bent. you just loosen up the 10mm bolts on it and move it.

before i figured out how to reach under my front bumper and pop the hood, I was using a bungee and a vice grip to hold the hood puller in the car, then running around to the hood and lifting it. here's a quick guide:

roll down driver side window
loop bungee around sideview mirror
grab onto hood-popping latch with vicegrip
loop other bungee side around vicegrip handle, thus pulling the "hood popper handle"
run around to the hood and bump/pull/shimmy it however you need to, to get it to open.

voila, no longer a 2 man operation to open your hood.

you kinda have to mess with vice grip/bungee/door placement to get it to work, but you will get your hood open.
