well im looking at buying a new deck for my 04 s2k im looking at the Pioneer DEH-P7800MP and the alpine Alpine CDA-9857. i plan on using an ipod with the deck. i've checked and the adapter for the alpine is $30 and the pioneer $50. i also plan on getting the lucid control adater for the dash controls. now which one is a better choice? i can get both for about the same price. i know the alpine will display track tittle and artist from the ipod.. but i does anybody know if the pioneer does also? i will be running alpine Type X component set with the alpine mrpf450 amp..

 

yes the pioneer will display the artist and title and track if you select it.

Never hooked up the iPod adapter/controls......but I had this deck in my Suby before I traded it in. LOVED IT! I just put the 6800 in my SI. I miss the full color display, but still like Pioneer in general. This is my 3rd deck from them.

 

the current alpine line of decks is a joke compared to their older stuff

any1 know when there gonna bring out something new

 

I would just assume get the 9835 personally. And badguy does have a point. The Pioneer 880PRS is an excelent deck by the way. If you dont mind winging it i would go with that.
