I have a Boston SPG-555 that I am going to install in my SI. They are a little pricey at $400-$500/piece.........but with enough power will push 1000W RMS. I'll try to post pics and opinions on sound quality when I get it in.

cool. I've got an mtx 1501d, 1500 watt mono-block amp. im thinking about getting a second one. one for each of the subs i get.

would a 5 farad capacitor be enough to save my alternator, if im pushing 3 amps, like 3500 watts total?

I would go "Big 3" first off and ditch the cap. But, if you are talking about 3500W RMS, I would look into getting a new alt. Check out Irragi Alts. Have heard good things about them. (I think the guys name is Dominick Irragi)

If your car is the Integra you have mentioned in your sig, you won't be able to go very long with your stock alt with that much stuff running in your car. Maybe I'm wrong, but that's a ****-ton of wattage to be running off your stock. I will only be running around 1400W-1700W RMS after I am done putting everything in, and I am looking into getting a new alt soon.

Good Luck

Edit : Might want to look into a new battery as well

whats " big 3 "

and i have 0 gauge wire for my +12vdc. I have heard of someone having a circuit breaker style fuse. Instead of it blowing when it over powers, it just flips, then you just simply reset it, rather than buying new fuses etc..
do you know of any brands of theese or where to find them ?

Search around on this forum for some info on the Big 3. It's basically replacing the 3 big cables that come into play in your electrical system to prevent voltage drops and supply a bigger avenue for maximum power. It WON'T give you more power than your alternator can produce, just make sure it's getting utilized more efficiently. The 3 cables are listed below:

1) Alternator (+) to Battery (+) <------- THis is the one you want to fuse
2) Battery (-) to chassis (ground)
3) Engine Block to chassis (ground)

A really good write-up is provided here : http://www.caraudio.com/forum/...52355

And I don't know if you have an Ebay account, but here are some examples of those breakers you are talking about. I went with an inline ANL

your about to kill your alternator. Or not get the wattage you need. The teg alt is good to produce enough amps to run a system of say 1k to about 1300k After that it starts to go down hill quick. I would not push it past 15k. You need to start looking for a big battery and do the big three. I would also look into getting a new alternator or two. I did a b-series motor that we go rid of the ac condenser to put a alternator there. Me and my bro in law. If you look in my sig there is a caddy that we own that we did he is in there. Two batteries, two alternators and daily driven with 4500 watts. It peaked at 5k.

I would like to see a system pushing 1300k(or 1,300,000) watts tho

Since he didnt put a "k" after the 1300, it wasnt implied we all knew what he meant, because it was stated very clearly 1K=1000watts to 1300watts

Well if price is not a problem, you may want to have a look at some HERTZ Mille ML2500 or ML3000, [10" and 12"] not cheap... http://www.hertzaudiovideo.com/default_en.htm. 94

BTW, out of the two you poll, I picked the JL Audio W7

JL 13W7 if money is of no concern. Then get 2-JL 500/1 amps, one for each voice coil, and you will be good to go.

I just bought a Bazooka 12" from circuit city (they are on sale half off for $40). sounds awesome for the money, sounds better than the explodes pioneers and any other $80 sub.

Of course I could not forget to use that high quailty tsunami speakers wire, power wire and rca's. lol. Sorry but I can't play with the jbl.lol

Thanks for clearing that up Next time I will use one of these " , "
And the reason that I don't post about the subs that are good that most of you guys mention ie. reaudio, tcssounds and such is that I don't sell them and I barely see them. Hell I can count on one hand how many times I installed one. I never had a day or two to play with one. So that will make me talk with a foot in my mouth If I back them. Now I heard them all before at trade shows and they do bump thats all I can say. Not to many people bump those on my side of town and they want to stick to what everybody else bumps. I remember when in 93 I first started with jl. I got clowned because nobody heard of them and everybody was on fosgate, alpine, and kicker nuts. Got the R-E-S-P-E-C-T when I cranked the b up,lol

I would personally not get the jl subs or the mtx if i had no budget. Im not by any means saying that either one is a bad sub at all. Its just that MANY ppl that have a lot of cash to spend get the JL setup. Excellent setup but id personally want to get something a little bit different. Take a look around caraudio.com in the subwoofer forums. If you are looking for something that is loud as hell maybe take a look at Digital Designs subs. If you want something all around maybe take a look at Image Dynamics IDMax subs or Resonant Audio XXX subs. For amps, maybe look at Arc Audio, Audison, Helix, Brax.

Out of the two i'd say JL W7.

Kind of a sidenote, but has anybody heard good things about soundstream, particularly the reference series, http://www.soundstream.com/subwoofers-ri.htm
