Color difference?
Picked up these JDM ITR wheels this past Friday. The kid I bought them from had them re-painted. JDM champ white different from USDM champ white? The center cap looks a little off to me.
champ white is champ white to my knowledge, those caps yellow and fade
my 96 spec itr wheels (so they're jdm) are champ white with fading caps, my guess is the person that refinished those wheels didn't get the color 100%

I used to work at a bodyshop and they had huge books full of paint codes/chips. They show ITR championship white (Nh-0) and champ white for the NSX which was noticeable different. I forget the paint code, as this was a few years ago. I was confused at the time because I don't believe the NSX was offered in championship white in this country. I suppose it is feasable that JDM champwhite is a different shade..

Dan-o, maybe I can order a CW center cap, and you can bring a wheel down to see if it looks any better? I mean, it would be an "A" cap, but you can check to see which one is off, the center cap or the wheel
Maybe the body shop who had refinished them didn't mix actual NH-0, but rather sprayed them an "off-white" as per the customers request?

i just had my car repainted in cw and i already had 96 itr suspension on the car and here's the thing. Championship white is a hard color to apply. I had to use almost 4 coats to have the color actually look like the wheels.
Then i had the same problem with the thin jdm moldings. They were painted off the car and when we put them on, they clearly didn't match. The needed another 2 coats of paint.
In my opinion, I think those wheels didn't have enough paint applied. I'll post pics later.

The one center cap he said he compounded and it matches better than all the other ones. I'd like to keep the Honda center caps in. But then I supposed I'd have to Honda badge the car

Ummm....durrrrr, you wouldn't be as JDM if you didn't.
I'd actually like to see someone rock the JDM 16's with "A" caps....it would be a refreshing difference

Anyway, I found my own answer looked on ICB at the Honda centercaps and it says right there
"Note: Japan Version Champion White Paint do not match U.S. Version White Paint."

BS...paint is paint. The color code is NH0 and should be the same where ever you go. Paint changes color from time and exposure so you can't expect to be guaranteed an exact match unless the car is from the same area where you live and subjected under the same exact conditions as your car.
The wheel looks to be in great condition so stop whining and hurry up and put it on.
