i heard that i could make power for cheap by jus full advancing my distributor and pickin up a FEUL PRESSURE REGULATOR and adding a pound of pressure for every bolt on i have for example headers, intake, and exhaust so that would be 3 pounds. i was jus woundering if anyone has tried that and if it works. thank you

Unless you have an acurate way of monitoring your air/fuel ratio, you should not try to mess around with it. Fully advancing your distributer isn't a great idea either.

Yeah that really sounds like a bad idea, never really heard of it. Might want to look around for a while and ask some people.

 

A safer way would be to get some kind of engine management and head to the dyno for a tune.

You mentioned you have every bolt on...have you swapped throttle bodies? (depending on your car... which you didn't list) That will help the breathing aspects as you've done the other ones i/h/e

While this is true, but once you reach a certain efficiency, it is all in the cams. If they don't hold the valves open long enough (or high enough), all of the bolt-ons in the world are useless. I do agree that for best results a trip to a dyno/tuner is in order.

 

Running Advanced timing will give you slightly more HP.

I know my b18a1 is 16 degrees +/- 2 which means I can run from 18 down to 14 degreess. Before I was running a nitrous setup I had it to 18 degrees because thats where I felt the most change from the stock. Im now running 13 degrees and can notice the change significantly but the nitrous makes up for it.

(fuel pressure will not help help at all.) Upgrading your fuel delivery system may help you with a more of a kick when you stomp on it. (A higher flowing fuel delivery system will allow your fuel pressure not to drop as much and your engine to recieve a better A/F when you put it to the floor panel.) The idea is to keep your Fuel Pressure constant at all times.

You need a proper timing light; the one with the dial on the gun so you can set it to waht degree you want to run. Increase it slowly if you are going too 1 degree at a time, until you are happy with the street tune. Adjusting your spark plug gap you can do as well but dont do it unless you know waht your doing. (stock gap is .044 increase gap for hotter firing decrease for colder)
