Ummm.... that device only works assuming you get the the car back. You could do the same thing with just about any handheld gps device.

Despite the name, it's not a tracking device. Law enforcement can't zero in on that device and find it.

Therefore, it's useless for security purposes.

You're an idiot.

I will second and third that. Best and cheaper than an alarm? I dont think you get what the point of a security system is. would you rather someone steal ur car, strip all the **** out and get the body back or would u rather try to stop the person first? hmm. you are an idiot

BUT....I guess since its 19 and drinks Jim Beam Whiskey he could hunt those thieves down and kick their a$$es, thats better than a security system and that wothless tracker he posted here(yes its him). I mean he even has a badass name, watchout thieves, he will Ef_you_up!

Again, I'll state my assertion that you're an idiot.

You're saying that it's a security device, while the only thing that "key" does is record its position. Taken directly from the item's description:

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote"># Replay everywhere the vehicle drove
# Shows how fast they drove and maximum speed
# Can be hidden easily in or under a car
# Create detailed daily driving reports
# Data downloads directly to your USB port</TD></TR></TABLE>

So exactly how does a device, which only function is to receive GPS signals, protect your car in any way? It doesn't.

If you want to know where your child or employee drives the car, then by all means, buy that thing. It will do nothing to prevent your car from being stolen, and therefore is not "the ultimate security device" as you state in the title of this pointless thread.

well maybe i missenterpreted, i didnt state at all that its purpose is to prevent theft, and i didnt say that it replaces an alarm. if your car is stolen you have a better chance of recovery or even finding the *** who took it rather than calling the police

this thread is soo pointless yet you keep coming back

I'm not as mean as the others but you are not thinking. How does this give you a better chance of recovery if you never get the tracking device back?

You need the tracking device in your hand to read where the car has been. If you did get the car back and the GPS device you might be able to track where the car went. That is if you didn't overflow the memory first. Remember this will track where the car was stripped, then where it was moved to be dumped, then the trip back from the tow truck driver, then back to your house. And hopefully the batteries dont die It could be days before you get your car back. My handheld gps lasts about 13 hours.

While not a complete stupid idea it's not a very good one either. Your better off spending the money on an alarm and preventing the theft in the first place.
