Default Poor 1/4 times

I ran my car this last saturday , around 700-800 miles on the rebuild , its a 92 with a rebuilt 91 motor , thats the 130hp/121tq motor i believe. All it has a intake , DC header , and a J1 XSI tranny. Other than that stock. I ran the car with a full tank of gas , the spare in the trunk, and full interior. I ran the car 5 times , the slips are in my car but i remember the best run off the top of my head

2.5 60ft
1/8th mile 10.7@66mph (not sure on the mph)
1/4 16.5@82 mph

This is not my first rodeo , i know how to drive great , im 22 and i have had a lot of hondas ranging from a swapped hatches to preludes, and i got 2.0-2.3 60fts in those , the 60ft i was running were horrbile , but the funny thing is all 5 runs were 2.5 60"s. I just got this car in january and i rebuilt the motor , had the new tranny installed , the runs were on a fresh clutch with less than 200 miles so i dont know if that might have something to do with it , i do know the clutch has 400 on it now and feels tighter. Also the kid who had this car before me put some shitty *** cheap springs on it to lower it , and the back sits lower than the front for some reason. Next time i go out, ill have the spring proplem fixed , im going with eibachs in the front , and OMNI drag coilovers in the back. Im also installing a full skunk2 catback and blox IM, im also going to lower my tire pressure to 22psi , and do the free fuel pressure mod. I think with the cold air intake and header on it now , with a stock exhaust , has to be holding it back. Ill post up my new times , im hoping to take a second off the 1/4 time with the new mods and taking the spare out of the trunk, and this time not running with 15 gallons of gas

PS: if anyone likes bike , i ran my bike to ( had a friend drive my car in , i showed up on t he bike) i ran 9.9@135 mph , lost to TT Dodge viper on that run , that viper ran 9.7@139 mph

Practice, learning the car, breaking the motor in and learning the tricks. I see mid 15's as a very real possibility.

I normally run on at least a half tank saves weight and the less the better. But with just on some bolt ons no tuneing i ran a 15.2 in my 95 . Turbo now Track times soon to come ... but yeah all i could say try to get rid of some weight.. Do a lil more bolt ons. you have stuff on it that doesnt make to much horse so hey i wouldnt expect to running really fast .

Rule of thumb...every 100lbs of weight off of your car is going to knock off a 1/10 of a second. Your 60ft times are killing your e/t. 1/10 off of your 60ft could be worth 2/10's of your e/t.

Yeah Take out ur spare tire, take out the back seats, and everything else u can, and only have a couple gallons of gas... What rpm are u launching at? Learn how to speed shift. Are u shifting at redline? Just a few simple things that go a long way.
