Your not gonna feel vtec on a SOHC. You may be able to barely hear it but its not gonna break loose the tires when it hits.

heres what you do... on your ecu i thing the wires should be grey and purple( not sure cause i have a p08 ) but take the to wires and run a volt meter to each one, one at a time rev your engine till vtech is supposed to hit and if the volt meter jumps to an over load then that is the wire that goes to you solinoid and the other is to the vtech oil pressure sensor if it doesnt work after that than your **** out of luck
vtech solinoid goes to ecu
and the pressure sensor is grounded out in the ecu
good luck and let me know how it does

i have only felt and heard vtec on two SOHCs ever in my life.
one was my homies EF hatch with a jdm D15b and the other happened last night when i test drove a 95 civic ex coupe owned by a 50 year old guy with a cheapy short ram.
felt and heard vtec. weird.

LOL, open TB on my brothers stock 97 4door EX with the stock y8 you can sure as hell hear VTEC engage, fun times. I like y8 IM's, they do wonders for SOHC's.
