U.S. type R in 2010???

they have been saying that a type r civic was going to come to the states for the past 5-8 years now and no luck yet. So i wouldnt get my hopes up

I've only really been into Hondas for maybe 5 years now, and I remember several big jumps in excitement over a type R civic, and we still don't have one.

Really, besides offering it hatch form, our Si is pretty close to being a 'type R', so I don't think that Honda would spend the money on such a similar product.

The Mugen Si might influence future prospects though...

I don't think we will see another Type-R model in the US for a while. Especially not with this new Si model....

I would take the USDM Civic over the UKDM Type R every weekday and twice on Saturday and Sunday. Not only do we get a car with a modern rear suspension and an LSD, but we get the option of 2 or 4 doors. It seems to me like a Type-R in the US would mostly go down the road of the Mugen Civic anyways as most people here seem to value exclusivity and bling more than performance anyways.
