Problem Areas on 97 GSR
I'm looking at buying a 97 Integra GSR in a few weeks and I wondered if anyone knows of any problem areas that I should look for on it. I'm pretty new to just about everything so I'm looking to buy a solid base to work with. So I basically don't want to get the car home and realize that there is something major that needs fixed. Thanks for your help.
i havent heard of any major issue with dc tegs, the only thing i hear about all the time is the broken antenna mast,
good luck wit finding a car
98+ usdm front conversion ftw

The R-81 Milano Red paint has fade issues. Take a paper clip and pull CEL, ABS, and SRS codes (instructions in the FAQ thread). The '97 GSRs have also had a recall for the emmisions system.
My 97 has a sunroof - and the drain tube was broken in teh rear and it pooled water in the trunk where the spare tire is...
Wasn't a prob for me cuz i caught it early - but id imagine if you ldidnt know and let the water sit...
Anyway I hear the sunrooofs on teh DC's commonly leak into the trunk - So check under there where the spare/jack is if the car u want has a sunroof
(or buy one without a sunroof to save weight)
Oh, and if ur gonna tune it, why not just buy a OBD1 integra GSR - I think its 94-95 and some 96's.... Has the same body/power as the '97... but ull save cash when tuning
If your gonna buy a 94-97 body style, just buy a OBD1. If your going OBD2 anyway you should just buy a 98+ and get the cleaner front end/ all red tails/nicer rear bumper / and headlights that look angry

Not trying to. I am picking up a 94 gsr sedan tomorrow so I am going to be rocking the 94-97 body for sure.
I just like the way the front bumper looks on the 98-01 and don't know if I like the darker taillights but they are kind growing on me.
Either way it has a fresh coat of paint on it so I will most likely rock it since the paint is going to be at best impossible to match.
Plus I am really not a fan of the little round headlights. I had jdm lights on my 97 accord and liked those so I would like the jdm style headlights.
But this is going to replace my dd wagon as I got my eg hatch to beat on during the weekends.
