ugh... right headlight lamp is a b*tch to replace...
I TOILED for over an hour late last night SKINNING UP MY FINGERS and cursing in pain trying to get the new one in. I don't have very big hands either. The tops of my hands are swollen and are a bit painful. There are several places on my hands/fingers where it looks like I took a potato peeler to it...
:'(
By the way, I had had the Sylvnia Silverstar Ultra lights in there...installed new for AT MOST 2 months... both burned out within 1.5 weeks of each other... is that normal?
Can't wait for HIDs... :x

wierd...i didnt have too many issues...just took a little fanangling to replace them! I thought silverstars were better than that though...2 months, weak. You didnt end up touching the bulbs did you?
I know your pain brother. I went through the same nightmare for about an hour before finally throwing caution to the wind. My hands are not small and I bruised the top of my hands very badly until finally loosing up the ABS distribution block and sliding it out the way. Even then it was still a tight fit, but not as painful.
I have been running Silverstars for 10 months without any problems. Wierd that your burned out so quickly.

well i dunno about this time when I just replaced it with the ultras (not silverstars). I just had so much hell with it wiggling it in there, I'm not sure if I got my fingers on it.
However, the first time I had the silverstars installed (friend) he didn't touch bulbs.
Hmm, peeling back the wheel well.....
Yes, the reservoir slides out, but that's for the left headlight -_-

Yes the passenger side light is a pain in the ***..
But as long as you stay patient and try not force rush it, you can usually come out of it with just a few little scrapes.
ps- my silverstars are still running fine after 1 year.

Thats why when discussing automotive parts you refer to DRIVER and PASSENGER side.

oooh i was slow, i thought you were talking about removing the whole headlamp assembly! The headlights take about 1 minute to change...you just pull back your fender liner and reach your hand up there...very very easy!

I don't see how you "quote" stuff...where is the button?
The ultras are more yellow than the Silver stars...but as far as coverage, I think they have a wider, longer range.
So fender....wheel wells eh? hmmmmm....I will look in my manual. If it's the plastic covers around the engine bay--I already had those off.
Wheel wells? Do I have to take off the tire?? :-x

It took me awhile to figure out the quoting system, just hit reply, then look for the post you wanna quote, then hit the little bubble in the top right corner of the post.
The deal with the wheel wheel/ fender liner: It can be done with the wheel on or off. Much easier if its off, you can also jack up the front passenger corner and just let the wheel drop a little to give you the extra space you need.
The only downside from working from the wheel well, is the point of view. Its kinda obscured from the angle your working from.
